Honduras Update 8-25-2020
Great things are happening here in Honduras. We are seeing the economy open up. It has a long way to go, but we are heading in the right direction. More and more people are going back to work. In Copan Ruinas, we rely heavily on the tourism business. The government just announced that they will permit non-citizen/residents (tourists) to enter Honduras via air travel. I just spoke with a hotel owner and they are going through classes to open up their hotels. She said that they believe by October the hotels should be open again to receive tourist.
Nancy and I are still performing ministry as best as we can. We miss connecting with our pastors and church leaders. Radio and other means are nice, but there is nothing like one-on-one contact. You don’t realize how much you miss something unless it has been taken away from you.
We are continuing in our feeding program for hungry families. As said before, our community relies on tourism. Many are not back to work because hotels and restaurants are still closed. So, with that, we will continue identifying families that need food and help them as much as possible.
As always, blessings to you all! Nancy and I appreciate you. Thank you for everything! Online Giving

Honduras Update 7-16-2020
Currently, Honduras is doing its best dealing with this virus. As many know, prior to COVID-19, it was a developing country. Most people live day to day to survive. If you work today, you eat today. Hunger is widespread throughout the country. As you watch our video update, we are doing our best to feed those here locally.
Sadly, the medical system has broken down in many ways. I just had a conversation with my doctor friend in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras. He said the conditions in the hospitals are horrific. See attached photos and video. It breaks my heart to see what people are going through to get any medical care. I know the government is trying to build out medical centers to take care of those that have lesser conditions. This will in return relieve the pressure on the hospitals for more major cases.
The other attached photos are some of our feeding that we are doing in the communities. Next week, we will be feeding our 17 pastor and leader families.
Thank you to everyone that is supporting our work in Honduras. Many blessings to you all. Please remember, even though things seem to be getting better in the USA, Honduras is still dealing with a major ripple effect. Blessings!

We pray all is well in your world, wherever that may be. Nancy and I are doing well under the circumstances of the pandemic. God has proven himself over and over during this time. It is truly a blessing to see him at work in our lives.
We are approaching 90 days in quarantine. The country is at work in training businesses on BioSecurity and their expectations when they begin opening back up (temperature readings, sanitization, etc.). Also, they have divided the country into 3 different zones. They all have different time frames of opening back up. The larger cities will take longer than smaller communities. Copan Ruinas is zone 2 and they estimate that is will take 45 days to open up completely. Now, the businesses may open up, but that doesn’t mean they will relax quarantine and isolation in our homes. There is no mention of that at this time.
We are continuing our feeding program. Our goal is to identify families in need each week to provide them with food. We feel that this will be an ongoing thing in the future. Our area is known for tourism and the economy is based on that. As businesses open, there will be employment for those, but you still have many hotels and restaurants that will be hindered because of lack of tourism. At this point in time, I estimate another 6 months of feeding will be needed. We appreciate your continued donations, the USA may be opening and the pandemic may be forgotten soon, but that doesn’t mean other areas of the world will still not be feeling the ripple effects.
Sadly, churches are not taken in much consideration with the opening. They mention it, but the guidelines are so complex; you ask yourself, how can anyone attend a church service. Nancy and I are still ministering in what capacity we can. My radio productions are previous recordings, but we hope that we can get started on new recordings next week.
We want to thank all those that have continued supporting our ministry through your financial donations. It has been a massive blessing to us. Thank you for praying and staying in contact. May God bless you and your loved ones!

Honduras Update 4-10-2020
Greetings from Honduras! All is well here with Nancy and I. We are continuing our efforts in feeding those in our community that is hungry. We are in lockdown and can’t leave the house but once a day a week. This has been going on for about 3 to 4 weeks. A special pass issued by the city for me has been helpful in our efforts. Next week, I hope to connect with an organization, World Vision. This will enable us to volunteer more so in food distribution on a greater level. Our other work is going forth as best as possible under the current conditions.
Honduras as a whole is struggling because of the lockdown. This nation lives moment by moment. Most people have to work each day to feed themselves and their family. Stories are coming out each day of great suffering. We praise God for those that are stepping up as much as possible to make a difference in their communities. We have seen some missionaries go to great lengths in reaching those in great despair.
I find it touching that God is giving us opportunities to connect with various people. One, for example, is our neighbors, an older couple, we have lived next to each other for about 4 years. They have always been such wonderful people, having our little conversations in passing. Well, we found out that their income is derived off of their family in the USA. They have since then lost their job. So, they were facing great oppositions. I will never forget, God dropped directly in my heart, this is a family you will help consistently throughout the pandemic. They can’t even believe it when we are dropping off groceries to their home. We tell them, God funnels money to us and we filter it out to the community. What a blessing!
Thank you to everyone for reaching out to Honduras through MorningStar Missions.

Honduras Update 3-24-2020
Nancy and I wanted to give everyone an update on Honduras and how things have changed since COVID-19. This YouTube video will give an update regarding the measures the country has implemented and how incredibly our national missionary fellowship has taken the bull by the horns in providing vital information.
Nancy and I are doing well. We got many things in place before the national quarantine took place. At this time, we can’t leave our homes unless we go to the local market for food or essential reasons (delivering food, medical, etc.). Other than that, we can’t be out on the streets.
Something we didn’t cover in the video is the Honduran people themselves. Honduras is a society with very few safety nets in a time of national crisis. Since many are out of work or can’t open their businesses, some are going without. Obviously, this is a global issue as well. (CONTINUE TO READ BELOW)

Through the years of ministry here, we have connected with several pastors and their communities. Before quarantine, we were able to secure food (corn and beans) for 17 pastor families, and yesterday we delivered most of the food. We have been told, for most families, this is a month supply. As time goes on, we will analyze the situation to determine another purchase of food for the future.
Finally, we are continuing with all other aspects of the ministry as much as we can. We feel once no more cases of COVID-19 develop in Honduras, we will see an ease in the national quarantine, all the while keeping the borders and airports closed to the outside world. This will permit us to serve the people in our communities on a greater level after freedom of movement is restored.
As always, we appreciate everyone’s prayers, emails, messages, and support.
