The Passing of My Father

8/25/2015

Comments

HE IS WITH THE LORD NOW

Dad, going to miss you in so many ways. I can truly say that I always knew you loved me. The hour long conversations we had over the phone. We could talk about anything. Your wisdom that you gave me helped me through different situations. Never forget coming home one time and seeing the stacks of Army Times on the floor and asking mom why dad had these. Mom saying, "Cause your father is continually wanting to know how you are and what is going on in the Army." Many are not as fortunate as I to have a father like you. You insured that I learned the values and morals of life. No matter how thick of a head I had, you didn't give up. The greatest memory I have is seeing you this April. We all knew what was coming. We stood together as a family and prayed. Dad, I know I am going to see you again. I cherish knowing where you are at. Your suffering is over with. Love you and miss you already. Shawn

Please keep our family up in prayer. My mother lost the love of her life last night. I know it's a relief for her. It's never easy seeing the one you love to suffer, but soon those thoughts will be gone and will sink in that he's gone. I pray the Lord gives us all peace and strength.

What an incredible blessing it has been to receive this truck.  We have been blessed in so many ways.  This truck will help our ministry on different levels.  What a JOY!  Thank you to all who helped with this effort!

WHY DO WE SAY???

8/24/2015

Comments

"Well, praise God I am not in this situation and I need to be more grateful to God" when we see photos like this? I get it and understand, yes, we need to be more grateful. BUT why are we not saying, "Lord, what can I do to help those in need? Where can I go? Who do you want me to help?" Sometimes we get so consumed about us and never think about those around us. We will say a little prayer for them, "Lord, help them in their lives, I pray a blessing over them." BUT never lift a finger to do it ourselves. Clicking "LIKE" on Facebook doesn't lend a hand, it's just appeasement. Giving of our time and financial resources puts action behind the words out of our mouths.

Believe with Us!

The greatest need we have right now is becoming a more sustainable ministry by focusing on various projects that can generate self-support.  Donations from people and ministries are wonderful, but we feel that generating a viable product for the surrounding community is a must for our ministry.  Currently, we are looking at developing aquaculture, breeding tilapia and taking it to the marketplace.

We had a chance to get out and go visit a friend that is building a home up in the mountains.  It was great to get up there.  As you can see, beauty from all angles!

Fun, fun to be up in the mountains and get a flat tire!  Good size nail I picked up.  Well, at least they got me fixed up right away and back on the road.

We are now looking towards the future for mission teams in 2016. This year we had 4 awesome teams plus a family from Kentucky. There is still room for September or October. Next year we are looking to build a school and 2 smaller mountain churches. The ministry is constantly expanding. Mission teams can range from medical/dental, teaching, VBS, construction, evangelism, preaching, and so much more. Contact me, let's see if we can put something together.

Contact me today to find out where you can fit in!

Mario's House is Getting Built

8/1/2015

Mario has an incredible testimony in what God can do for you!  He suffered from epilepsy and cause of that, he was considered a community outcast due to the lack of understanding.  He lost his mother at an early age.  I don't have any information on his father.  Years ago, he became a Christian.  Miraculously he was healed by the Lord.  At that time, he didn't know how to read and it was his desire to do so.  He picked up a bible and learned how to read by doing so.  He has never owned a home and now that is becoming a dream come true!
