Romans 10:15 "How beautiful are the feet that preach the gospel!" Man, I got some purty feet!! We preached in the wet rainy mountains tonight. Shared about the light of Christ in your heart and letting it out. Used a flashlight to demonstrate the light of Jesus!! They loved it, but it kind of got smelly when I pulled my boots off for them to see my beautiful feet!! Jesus is AWESOME FOLKS!! HE TRULY CHANGES YOUR LIFE!!
Shawn Paul Missionary We had a blast tonight teaching the kids about having faith in God. So excited for the future of training up these kids into mighty warriors for Jesus!!
Shawn Paul Missionary PRAISE GOD!! After 10 months in Honduras we are able to have GRILLED meat in our home!!! I know it sounds silly to many, but not us. Also, fresh squeezed orange juice thanks to Francis Pineda!!
Baptism for the new church in La Laguna. What an honor it is to be a part of God 's great work!! These people are so precious and continuous prayers needed for them.
Life as a missionary has it's times of extreme busyness, but then there are those moments that we get to get everything caught up to only run again. Well, we have come to that moment of getting all caught up (newsletter out, accounting done, personal letters, thank you videos, and much more.) All this to do it all over again, but this time it will be much sooner. God has certainly brought the increase for us here in Honduras. Coming November, we will be having our very good friends come and celebrate Thanksgiving, but at the same time we will be ministering to the families in La Laguna. Our goal is that the marriages will be built with greater spiritual strength and the children are touched in a special way. Then before you look around we are looking to host two more ministry teams in February of 2015. Our planned projects will be a larger pastor's conference and start the building of the new sanctuary in La Laguna. Yes, that's right, building ANOTHER one. We out grew the first one right away; never did we expect this to happen, but the Lord gave the increase. What is even a greater blessing, we are going to be giving the old building to the children. This team will only be putting the foundation in and then we will be waiting for another team to finalize the rest of the project. There are tentatively other groups coming in 2015. We are confident that we will be making a bigger impact into the mountainous communities surrounding Copan Ruinas. It is certainly not to late for other groups to jump aboard, don't hesitate to give us a shout out. We would love to see what the Lord has at hand by working with new church and ministry teams. Shawn Paul Missionary to Honduras Once again, the school bell rings and the students fill in my classroom for my second year of teaching! I am excited once again to be a part of my student's lives. Helping them learn more and more while making a positive impact for their futures. This year I switched to be the third grade teacher. Compared to only having three students last year, I will now start with eight. However, the difference this year with my students is that they don't know much English. So, right now it can be a struggle trying to teach them science because they don't have that basic foundation of English like my students last year. I have been praying for God to give me the words to say and to be creative so I can be the one to help them build that English foundation. Also, I pray that their ears will open to new things so they allow themselves to be taught. I really believe I can make a difference in these kids life, and I won't give up! Alexis Paul Missionary to Honduras What does it mean to be hungry? If you were to ask this question to a pastor, you may get a few different answers. Being hungry for physical food is the same as being hungry for spiritual food. The same effects happen. When your stomach is growling and making noises, you pay attention to it, and give it what it needs. When your spirit is hungry, there is a longing that physical food cannot satisfy. This longing is only quenched by intimate time in His presence and word. Our first pastor's conference was a banquet with a spread of spiritual food that all could partake from. Pastors came from miles around to be feed, taught, and encouraged through the Word of God. They were hungry to dive in what God had for them. Pastor Jimmy Squires spoke on: the church government; make sense insight; and the do's & don'ts of ministry. Pastor David Edwards shared on love and how important it is to have intimate time with the Lord to further propel your ministry. Two different approaches that were blended together beautifully by the Holy Spirit to affectively train and encourage pastors and leaders. We were able to bless all 28 pastors and leaders with a bible and four additional books to continue feeding that inner spiritual hunger! Nancy Paul Missionary to Honduras Reaching deeper into the mountains is a desire of my heart. The more and more I go, the more I see the need for our Lord Jesus Christ in the hearts and lives of the people in these remote areas. By going, you will never know what you will find, but I can promise one thing, you will be blessed by doing so.
I had the pleasure of taking Denae, Andrew, and Kennet (From Michigan) to a community called Dos Quebrada, meaning "Two Brooks (rivers)". This place is deep within the mountains and very limited access to regular civilization like Copan Ruinas. I asked some of the people if they have ever seen a "Gringo" in their town. They said, "No, we were the first." Pretty cool if you think about it. To our amazement, out of all the families in this town, there was only one person that was a Christian!! So, we hired a guide to walk us through all the little paths to go to each house. Every person welcomed us with wonderful smiles and love. They ALL were so hungry to hear what we had to share about Jesus Christ. They knew who he was, but have never asked him to be Lord of their lives. One after another, prayer after prayer, they made him Lord by asking him in their hearts. This was such a special time for us all. We had so much joy in our hearts seeing God work in their hearts!! Isaiah 52:7 "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!" Shawn Paul Missionary to Honduras One two punch in the gut to the kingdom of darkness!! We closed out this summer by reaching, touching, and changing!! You can truly say that lives and hearts were touched by our Lord Jesus Christ. Beginning of July we had the Kentucky group come and join us here in Honduras. They brought others from Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan. Their trip was a full plate of ministry work (door to door evangelism, clothing/shoe distribution, painting a school, women's conference, leadership development, and ministry of helps). There are countless lives that have been changes due to Kentucky coming and bringing their giftings. This group was especially special to us because it was our church, Abudant Life Church, from Kentucky that came. Pastor Marty blessed us greatly with her presents. It was such an honor for us to have her here. As children in the faith, it was like kids saying, "MOM, look at what God is doing through us!" She is so special and means so much to us in many ways. Also, thank you to Stacy for trusting us and bringing them, hopefully we will see you again soon. It's quite humbling to think that so many will give up everything in their lives for a week to come here in Honduras to touch lives for Jesus. We certainly appreciate everything that they had done.
