I had the pleasure of taking Denae, Andrew, and Kennet (From Michigan) to a community called Dos Quebrada, meaning "Two Brooks (rivers)". This place is deep within the mountains and very limited access to regular civilization like Copan Ruinas. I asked some of the people if they have ever seen a "Gringo" in their town. They said, "No, we were the first." Pretty cool if you think about it.
To our amazement, out of all the families in this town, there was only one person that was a Christian!! So, we hired a guide to walk us through all the little paths to go to each house. Every person welcomed us with wonderful smiles and love. They ALL were so hungry to hear what we had to share about Jesus Christ. They knew who he was, but have never asked him to be Lord of their lives. One after another, prayer after prayer, they made him Lord by asking him in their hearts.
This was such a special time for us all. We had so much joy in our hearts seeing God work in their hearts!! Isaiah 52:7 "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!"
