Hardware Store Visit

10/26/2015

Comments

YEAH, I DID IT!

I managed to go to the hardware store, ordered all my supplies in Spanish, didn't use Google translate or wave my arms, and without repeating myself in English over and over hoping they would somehow understand.

Medical Outreach in San Francisco

10/17/2015

Had a blast doing the medical in the mountains today. The people of San Francisco are precious to me. I played a game with the boys that my dad taught me. They were all laughing. Only one boy beat me.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTNERSHIP!!

Nothing!  I repeat, nothing could have been done without those that prayed, financially supported, and labored for this ministry.  It’s NOT us who I boast upon, but those that worked with and through the Lord Jesus Christ.

October 31, 2013 we moved to Honduras.  We started with 6 suitcases and a dream.  About 6 weeks in country we met Pastor Favio.  At that time, he was meeting with approximately 8 to 12 people on every Thursday night in La Laguna and holding a bible study in La Esperanza.  Now fast forward two years!!

La Laguna (community)
  • Built an entire Church complex with a home for a family
  • Have approximately 80 people attend on a regular basis
  • Have church services for:
    • Adults
    • Youth
    • Children
La Esperanza (community)
  • Built an entire church with a home for a leader
  • Have approximately 30 people attend on a regular basis
Holding bible studies in the following communities:
  • Chilar
  • San Rafael
  • La Cebita
  • San Francisco
Other Activities
  • Medical outreach program in 3 communities
  • Various construction projects (waterlines, roofs, and homes)
  • Every other week we have leadership development classes for future leaders
Active leaders along with Pastor Favio and I (Shawn)
  • Nancy Paul
  • Kennet Silva
  • Alexis Paul
  • Pastora Lourdes
  • Pastor Juaquin
  • Pastor Marlon
  • Leader Jose
  • Leader Santos
Future Vision (Coming Soon)

Community Meeting for the New School

10/14/2015

Comments

We are meeting with some of the community members on the new school we will be building next year. We are really excited about what God is doing. This school will be a staging area in the mountains for the gospel through medical, children's ministry work, community outreaches, and much more. Thank you to the Duke family for donating the land.

Marriages in the Communities

10/11/2015

Comments

In the culture of the Chorti Indian communities, it's common for the people to not get legally married due to being so expensive; governmental fees. They will just call each other husband and wife. A group within the church wanted to get married before the eyes of God. Under the Honduran law, they have to be married at the municipal building before the church wedding.

Helping a friend of mine, Ricardo Castro, vaccinate his cows.  It was a fun learning lesson.  This is our desire to have cows as well.

Bread of Life

10/9/2015

Comments

The Bread of Life (Word of God) is to sustain us in all areas of our life. When you go beyond it to manifest something more so; you will have to feed upon something that's not part of the Bread of Life.

Learning How to Work with Each Other

10/9/2015

Comments

We are teaching the kids how to work with each other in the local church.  We tied them up in a knot and they had to figure out how to untie themselves.  Then they had a church meeting, appointing leadership.  It was really fun seeing them work with each other!

Here is a feeding project we are currently working on.  Our goal is to raise vegetation and fish.  This will be able to help our ministry in so many different ways.

It's always great to see friends.  I have known Oscar and Maira since 2008.  They are some of the first people I met when I began my mission work here in Honduras.  They are a beautiful family!

One Word Can Radically Change Your Family

10/6/2015

Comments

One word that robs so many Christian parents of their children's souls. (COMPROMISE) We can't permit it to exist in our homes. The Word of God must be upheld no matter what. We must live it ourselves before our children and require the same of them.
