MorningStar Missions has hit the ground running in Copan Ruinas! This photo is a picture of Pastor Favio and I going over the church plans for the mountain community called, Laguna. We are excited to announce that this is the very first evangelical church that will be built in this community, serving approximately 100 families. "Laymen for Christ" out of Florence, Alabama will be partnering with us on this project. Their ministry is to reach out to impoverished nations to perform building projects such as homes and churches. I developed a relationship with them about a year ago. Once they heard about this community not have a church, they were on board. | The satellite image provided is a snapshot of the community. It's approximately 30 minutes away from Copan Ruinas by vehicle and as much as 1 1/2 hours by foot. So, imagine not having a vehicle and no place to go to church other than walking to town. As soon as I met Pastor Favio and heard of this community that he has been working in for 2 years my heart leaped, knowing this is a place where I will be sowing my heart into. He told me that many has told him to give up and stop going there, but he said that God wouldn't let him quit. So, he held on and waited for Him to show up and show off! Now, Pastor Favio will have a church that he can work out of and serve the people in the community. They can have a place where they can come and worship Jesus Christ. God is so wonderful and he is opening so many doors for us here in Honduras. As we move forward, he keeps opening up more opportunities for us! Shawn Paul |
