Letting Your Light Shine Out of Darkness

Recently, I had a very unfortunate situation occur in my family.  My brother passed away suddenly.  It was never expected and hit me like a ton of bricks!  One thing I knew for sure was that I had to go be home with my family during this situation.  I wanted to be used of God to help them see who Jesus is for their own lives.  I had to be a light in their time of darkness!

Being a light in the midst of darkness can be discouraging at times.  If a light is never turned on in a dark room then nobody knows the power and difference the light can make.  However, if a light is turned on people can manage much clearer to find what they are looking for or where they are going.   But how many of us know how uncomfortable it can be when the light is first turned on?  TO READ MORE, click below to the right.

We as Christians are to be that light for God.  It is not our responsibility to make sure everyone’s life is changed, that is God’s.  It’s our responsibility to be obedient vessels that will carry the light of Jesus Christ to all corners of the world.

Will there be people that are not wanting to hear about Jesus Christ, yes.  But you still need to be the light and not hide it.  The love of Jesus Christ in us can be displayed in several ways.  You may be the one who is preparing the people to open their hearts to hear.  You may be the one who gets the opportunity to share who Jesus Christ is.  Or you may be the one who leads them into the prayer of salvation.  All are part of being a light.

Let your light shine no matter what you may be going through as the one next to you may be ready to be harvested.  In Mathew 5: 14-15 it says, “You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.  No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house.”  Then 1 Corinthians 3:6 say, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”  You never know how you are being used in their lives, but one thing you can count on, Jesus is using it to change lives around you!!
