"Gift of Reading," is a statement that many of us don't even remotely comprehend. Reading is part of us like breathing. Learned early in life and never thought of NOT having the ability to read. Now imagine life without it. Not being able to read anything in life: billboards; books; food boxes; newspapers; webpages; and the list goes on and on. The constant feeling of being in a cloud of haze in life. Feeling as if you are in bondage and limited in every area. Compound that to lack of or limited employment. Losing all possible opportunities in life that many others have. MorningStar Missions heart is in the mountainous regions of Honduras. We want to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the masses, but how do you, if majority cannot read? To even advance any further, we must teach these people how to read. Once we acheive that, then we will be able to make progress in discipleship programs. | We at MorningStar Missions are extremely excited to be working with Sarah Davis and Dr. Jorge Ponce to bring a reading program here in Copan Ruinas. This successful program is currently being utilized around Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The fruits and testimonies are abounding! "Without reading, there is no discipleship. Without discipleship, it is a losing battle and you are wasting your time." Pastor Roberto Guerra Imagine for 30 years of your life never being able to read. Now you can finally read and foresee your new future coming forth in a dramatic way. Picking up the bible and seeing truths that apply to you and your family. Developing hope and joy in your heart because you know that all things are changing. This program will be starting around Jan-Feb 2014 (based upon training of teachers), it is estimated that it will cost $275 per month to educate approximately 15-20 people per month. This includes material, teacher's salary, and transportation. Shawn Paul |
