Please, just take a moment, close your eyes and begin to think about you and your family. You have always been taught to be religious all the while you have absolutely no intimate relationship with your Father God. You live in a community where Jesus is more of a religious act; there is no evangelical church locally to get fed a good spiritual diet. The closest place is an hours walk away if not more.
We could go on and on; I don’t know about you but I began to suffocate and panic just thinking about this, not having the rich daily relationship in my life. In all reality, sadly, I just described La Laguna, Honduras to you before we built the church, but also, 100’s of more communities as well. This is an all too familiar issue we deal with here in Honduras; communities after communities bound in religion, but no place to grow in Christ Jesus.
The heartbeat of MorningStar Missions is to reach out deep into these remote mountainous areas of Honduras and bring the light of Jesus Christ to them. Just the other day, Kennet and I thought it would be fun to go goof off in the mountains and take pictures. We came along a group of young men playing soccer. Kennet thought it would be fun to play with them for a few minutes. Before you know it, he has them sitting under a tree and telling about Jesus. In that brief moment, 10 hearts came to Jesus!! Praise the Lord!! THE HARVEST IS WHITE HOT!!
Nancy and I are soooo excited for our future here in Honduras. It seems like dreaming is endless and doors continue to open for us. When our last group leaves in July we are going to sit down to draw out our next battle plan. There are children and teens in La Laguna that need continual ministering. There are souls upon souls that need to hear the message of Christ right directly around us in the mountains.
Many of you are sitting there saying. Go Shawn, GO!! We are behind you! We are with you! Thank you, we truly we need your prayers, financial support, and physical labor here in Honduras. We CAN’T do it without you. If you are not a part of our team, please pray and ask God how you can help. Together, we can make a difference and push them into eternity!
